Various Facebook groups have been created, and we are waiting and praying for people to fill them up! The groups have both specific and mixed options, including age, gender, and knowledge levels (relevant to Bible reading plans). Just click the buttons to what group(s) you want to join, and request to join the Facebook group. For security reasons, the groups are listed as private groups, so there is a need to have your request accepted, but this should happen reasonably quickly. The groups intend to assist the growth of brothers and sisters in Christ. They present an opportunity to share and assist with the development of others.
I encourage members to join multiple groups, as this will build the numbers within both specific and mixed groups. This greater demand for groups is important for many reasons. From a community standpoint, it takes members to make members; additionally, interaction with both similar and dissimilar individuals creates the most promising environment for spiritual awareness, understanding, and growth. Notably, the processes of discipleship, nurture, care, and teaching are all mutually beneficial.
At an individual level, you may want to ask questions that are complex or require significantly more knowledge than you have. In this circumstance, a general or more advanced group may be useful. What if you need wisdom, guidance or insight from someone older or younger than you to answer questions? In this instance, the general groups should be helpful. This being said, it is also essential to grow and challenge those around you who are similar. They may have the same question, insight, an answer to that question, or need to be asking the same question themselves. The general groups will naturally have more significant numbers than the specifics, but each group can and will grow with invitations and participation.
The goal of SITF is to facilitate growth and development in spiritual wisdom and maturity, assisting brothers and sisters in Christ to grow and understand Christianity, themselves, the world and the realities we face. God's intention for us was not to live alone, but to have the love, support and companionship of one another. So, as we read the Scriptures together and come across various questions, I encourage you to gain answers and understanding so that you may become the greatest asset possible for God. Fulfil your potential, find your identity in Him, grow yourself and assist the growth of others by sharing and caring.
Humility, empathy, and care are important qualities to illustrate in these groups. We learn by people sharing, and create opportunities for growth and understanding by answering questions. So, please respect that this will sometimes leave people feeling vulnerable. There is value in every life and every perception, but the drive must be there to pursue truth, keep growing and keep learning. Humility, empathy, and care are invaluable assets in our quests for spiritual wisdom, insight and understanding.
Thank you for taking the time to become a part of this community, and I pray that it will be a blessing for you all in many ways.
Note: The animal names used for the groups are potentially just temporary. We will complete surveys later to see what people want to name their groups.
