Company when you are feeling alone, a helping hand where there is none to be seen, light when all we see is darkness, hope when all we see is despair. This is but a fraction of what prayer is and is available to all who give themselves to God. Prayer is what God has given us, and it is essential for us and others that we utilise the gift we have been given.

Prayer is a gift that God gave all of us, and it is critical to spiritual development. Ask yourself, “How should a Christian think?” My knee-jerk response when contemplating this question was, “Lord, how should a Christian think?” While we know more, we do not know all and are continually searching in life for guidance from God, praying in humility for His will and understanding to live the life He wills us to live. We look for opportunities and enjoy the blessings but are always circumspect and look to be discerning in our own authority, as there is always One that is higher.

Many of us value prayer highly, and the Prayer Warriors group is a place for those of us who wish to practise prayer, praying for the SITF vision, community, and a variety of people all around the world. It is an opportunity to both serve and grow, as people can share and ask for prayers. It is also an opportunity for you to share your insights, tips, and experience regarding or stemming from prayer.

Learning about other people and praying for them helps to grow empathy and wisdom, as we learn to appreciate other people’s lives and situations. Another shoot of prayer ministry is the monthly prayers for certain countries, and this will also help to grow learning and perspective. Your prayers for the SITF vision and community are of great encouragement to all of us who participate in helping the community become what God intends.
